Embedded Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Must have experience in the whole life cycle of software development of embedded network devices.
  • Participate in product requirement, architecture, design, implementation, testing, trial, deployment, support and maintenance.
  • Produce high level and detail design documents, responsible for coding, debugging and unit testing of the modules you own.
  • Interact with other software team members for module interfaces and design issues.
  • Perform design reviews and code inspections with the team.
  • Work closely with hardware engineers on board bring up, system integration and product delivery.
  • Work with outside vendors and organizations for tools and services.

Required Skills

  • 5+ years software development using C/C++  in embedded environment
  • Expert in Linux OS and GNU tools  system calls, command lines, installer, configuration, compiler, linker, debugger, profiler and boot loader
  • Hands on BSP and board bring up experience on  PPC or MIPS CPU.
  • In-depth L2 (MAC, bridging, STP, VLAN, COS) and L3 (IP, UDP, TCP, routing, ARP, NAT, DHCP, NTP) knowledge
  • Working knowledge of kernel built-in and loadable driver modules for various devices NOR/NAND, UART, I2C, SPI, GPIO, Ethernet switch, MAC, PHY
  • Detail oriented, desire to learn and good team player.

Qualifications

B.S. in computer science, computer engineering, electronic engineering or equivalent. M.S. preferred.
